Diplomacy / Foreign Relations: The Thegn-Hold of Siar Fordell is open to all friendly relations with other micronations or individual citizens. This is including, but not limited to: Receiving envoys, economic relations, trade, cultural exchanges & activities, and military expeditions/exercises.
Military/Defense: The Thegn-Hold has no standing military, as all males within the realm serve in the military of the United States. Siar Fordell does feel it has an obligation to field a volunteer military force, known by its Anglo Saxon name, Fyrd, in order to address and meet any issues that might arise requiring an armed response. The Thegn-Hold does try and keep its holdings properly garrisoned, including the family seat at Stoney Pointe, and the stronghold of Phoenix West.
Citizenship: While the Thegn-Hold of Siar Fordell does not have “Citizens” within its borders like other states may have, it maintains garrisons of warriors and their castellans, cyber or otherwise, enrolled in the Fyrd. Those who offer their services to the Thegn through duty in the Fyrd are generally provided the rights and privileges often associated with citizenship (as opposed to those who are merely tenants on the Thegn-Hold’s estates.) Please email the Steward in order to inquire as to the requirements and obligations expected to serve in the Fyrd.
Household Warriors: There are those among the comrades and associates of the Thegn who have shown their courage and willingness to join us in the proverbial shield wall should the need arise. These elite men and women are often allies – lords or rulers in their own right, and can, at times, lead their own forces in support of the Thegn-Hold. These companions of Siar Fordell make up the Order of Huscarls and bear the title Huscarl or Shield Maiden. Those who offer a token of support and service to the Thegn-Hold will receive a warrior’s silver arm band signifying their status, and engraved with the motto: Sola Virtus Nobilitat. Those who act as Castellan and garrison the stronghold of Phoenix West will automatically be entered among the ranks of the Order of Huscarls.
Titles: As of the moment, no titles exist within Siar Fordell except for those of Thegn and Huscarl/Shield Maiden, but the Thegn reserves the right to appoint new titles within the borders and services of his Thegn-Hold. These include, but are not limited to: Steward, Chancellor, Castellan, Master-at-Arms, Forester, Huntsman, or possibly even Bishop. Those appointed or applying to any of these positions must be a member of the Fyrd, but it is not always necessary to be a member of the Household Warriors, as not all are military positions.
